Yorkshire were forced to withdraw players Gwyn Thomas (fullback), Batton and Bacon (three quarters) and Brittain (half) due to injury/illness. Ned Rogers of Hull was brought in to play fullback, but was changed at the eleventh hour and Stacey of Halifax, named on the wing, shifted to fullback while Kelly of Bramley came in at #5.
